PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate a light-dark difference of a cutoff line after suppressing the generation of light distribution irregularities, in a projector-type vehicle lighting appliance.SOLUTION: A front face 12a of a projection lens 12 is divided into a plurality of polygonal regions Ap surrounded by a plurality of curved lines L1 and L2 which cross each other, and the polygonal regions Ap are constituted as protrusive face parts 12s which are formed of curved faces protruded to a reference face constituting the front face 12a of the projection lens 12. Then, emission light from the projection lens 12 is diffused by the plurality of protrusive face parts 12s not only in a vertical direction but also in a longitudinal direction. With this constitution, a dark-light difference of a cutoff line is alleviated after suppressing the generation of light distribution irregularities. Thus, a constitution is formed that external peripheral edges of the protrusive face parts 12s constituting the polygonal regions Ap are located on the reference face, so that a maximum deflection angle of emission light from the protrusive face parts 12s can be accurately controlled. |
