[Problem] To provide a peptide which is easier to produce and process than the conventionally known prothymosinαor a peptide thereof, and which has an activity that is equal to or more than that of the same. [Solution] The present invention provides a blood-organ barrier disorder improvement agent, a therapeutic agent for diseases that involve a blood-organ barrier disorder or for ischemic diseases, and a nerve cell death inhibitor which comprise, as an active ingredient, a peptide having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ NO: 2 or SEQ NO: 3 or a peptide that has substantially the same functions as said peptide.
