<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereo image calibration method calculating a calibration parameter for correcting a position of a whole image projected in the image by respective cameras so as to be appropriate as a stereo image. <P>SOLUTION: The stereo image calibration method includes: obtaining first and second images obtained by imaging a region including a subject from the first and second cameras; detecting the subject regions from the first and second images; extracting a group of subject feature points corresponding to the same point on the subject from the subject regions of the respective images; obtaining a first calibration parameter correcting a position gap of the subject on the respective images by a difference between a rotary angle of the first camera around a first axis and a second axis, which are parallel to an image face, and a rotary angle of the second camera based on the group of the subject feature points; and obtaining a second calibration parameter correcting rotation between the first image and the second image by the difference between the rotary angles around the optical axes of the respective cameras from images of objects projected in background regions of the first image and the second image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
