<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for scrapping steel cut pieces, capable of scrapping steel cut pieces within a relatively short time even when a shape failure part is present widely at the end of a steel. <P>SOLUTION: The device for scrapping a steel cut piece 16 generated when the end of a steel strip 12 is cut by a shear 14 includes a cut piece discharge shoot 17 for discharging the steel cut piece 16, a cut piece conveyor 19 for conveying the steel cut piece 16 slid down on the cut piece discharge shoot 17 to a scrap processing device, and a shoot height adjusting mechanism 23 for adjusting the height of the cut piece discharge shoot 17.
