A head mountable display (HMD) in which image generation is controlled at least partially by detected eye position and/or eye orientation and/or head orientation, where an image feature is rendered to be more prominent on the display according to whether or not the user is looking at it and image features generated are menu or information items. The feature is made more prominent when the user is looking at it such that it is enlarged, moved from a peripheral display position, replaced by a larger image feature and/or brought forward in a 3D display space. Other inventions include a HMD in which menu items are displayed, a HMD that displays menu items more prominently if the user is detected to be looking at them and a HMD that displays nested information, where lower level information is shown when the user looks at a higher level of the nested set.
|
