<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing a renal proximal tubular epithelium cell (RPTEC) to extend division life to an extent to proliferate the cell to a number sufficient for using as a biological artificial renal tubule, etc., while keeping a functional activity to a recoverable state, by using a highly safe medical means. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the renal proximal tubular epithelium cell (RPTEC) comprises a step to introduce an ASO (antisense oligonucleotide) or siRNA which suppresses expression of p16<SP>INK4A</SP>, p53, RB or p21<SP>Cip1</SP>to a normal RPTEC.
