<p>A vessel 20 comprises a plurality of wingsail units 21 to 26 the tops of which have heights, relative to the sea level, that are different from each other. The tops of the wingsail units are each below a line (30, Fig 3) defined as extending from the aft masthead light (31, Fig 3) of the vessel to a point (32, Fig 3) at sea level 1000 meters in front of the bow of the vessel. The wingsail units may be arranged along the centreline of the vessel, which may be a bulk carrier or a tanker. The line extending from the aft masthead light may be defined for the vessel when it is fully unladen. A method of designing a plurality of wingsail units for a vessel is also provided.</p> |
