PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet having no defect on a thermal transfer image caused by ink jumping or the like when a detection mark is formed and preventing poor image caused by the unevenness of the density of a dye layer in the thermal transfer sheet in which at least the dye layer is formed on one face of a substrate film and a heat-resistant sliding layer is formed on the other face, and to provide a thermal transfer recording method using it.SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer sheet in which at least the dye layer 2 is formed on one face of the substrate film 1 and the heat-resistant sliding layer 3 is formed on the other face, the detection mark 6 is formed at least in a part between the substrate film 1 and the dye layer 2 and in the opposite face of the dye layer 2 of the substrate film 1, and the detection mark is prepared so that the color difference from a position adjoining the detection mark is a color difference formula &Dgr;Eab=1.0-4.0 of Labcolor expressing system of Commission Internationale de I'Eclariage (CIE). |
