The method includes determining (710) ramp areas (804, 806) from the topological definition, and determining (715) adjacency relationships between constant-thickness areas and ramp areas. The method includes determining (720) ramp structure points (808), constant rails (810), and ramp rails (814, 902, 906) for the model. The method includes (725) a set of normal curves (812) connecting corresponding ramp structure points of on-surface geometries (502, 816, 902) and offset geometries (504, 818) of the model. The method includes producing (730) offset geometries corresponding to each ramp rail and generating (735) a ramp surface (602, 814) for each ramp area.
