<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide desired information individually to each viewer without affecting a main video image displayed on a display screen of a television receiver. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a television system 100 in which a television receiver 1 and a portable terminal 2 are connected over a predetermined first communication network N1, wherein the television receiver includes: a tuner for receiving a broadcast signal containing program contents corresponding to at least one channel and program information; display section for displaying one program content selected for viewing based on the broadcast signal; and a communication control section for transmitting to the portable terminal over the predetermined first communication network program related information of the program contents being displayed on the display section among the program information contained in the broadcast signal.
