<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can achieve a stable image density by accurately detecting a toner adhesion amount of a toner patch image, even if an image history is produced on a developer carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, a control unit 40 forms a plurality of toner patch images P under mutually different imaging conditions, leads a developing performance straight line which indicates the relationship between an imaging condition and a toner adhesion amount based on a result of detecting the toner adhesion amount with respect to each toner patch image P by using a reflection-type photosensor 30, and executes processing to determine an output image forming condition at a prescribed timing for determining the imaging condition in forming an image based on an order of a user.
