<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of a passenger conveyor capable of detecting whether or not foreign matter has been drawn in between a comb and a tread in a demarcation part even when the demarcation part that rises upward is provided at both ends of the tread in a width direction. <P>SOLUTION: The safety device includes a comb mounting beam 19 disposed at a passenger entrance of the passenger conveyor, the comb 17 mounted on the comb mounting beam 19, a detection member 31 disposed between the tread 2 that moves under the comb mounting beam 19 and the comb 17, and a switch 32 fitted to the comb mounting beam 19 for detecting displacement of the detection member 31. The detection member 31 includes an intermediate detection part 34 that extends along a width direction W of the tread, an outer detection part 35 that extends laterally from both ends in the width direction of the tread in the intermediate detection part 34 and is arranged above the intermediate detection part 34, and an activation part 36 that extends from both ends in the width direction of the tread in the intermediate detection part 34 to the front M1 in the moving direction of the tread and activates the switch 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
