<p>Electrolytic refining of copper contg. at least 500g/t antimony is effected with an electrolyte contg. more than 1 g/l pref. 2-5 g/l. As (III) and more than 2g/l, pref. 7-15 g/l. As (V) during continuous operation, the current being periodically reversed so that the current flows in the opposite direction for 1-15% of the time. Prevents the formation of floating sludge during electrolysis. Electrolysis is effected at a higher current density without causing anode passivation, or the cathode quality deteriorating.</p> |
