<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter in the inside of which a core wire is arranged without the need of a complicated step and which is improved in pressurization property. <P>SOLUTION: The balloon catheter 1 includes: a balloon 2 arranged at the distal side of the catheter; a catheter shaft 3 joined to the proximal side of the balloon and extended in the major axis direction; an inner shaft 4 joined to the distal side of the balloon and capable of housing a guide wire in its inside; and a hub 5 joined to the proximal side of the catheter shaft. A core wire 8 is arranged at least from an inflation lumen formed inside the catheter shaft and communicating with the inside of the balloon to a hub lumen 7 formed inside the hub.
