<p>The electrical cable comprises a conductive core, with first and second insulation layers 13, 14 made from materials having differing and complementary properties in appropriate ratios to provide necessary mechanical, dielectric and fire resistance properties. The first insulating layer is composed of at least one of HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE, a fluoropolymer or polypropylene and the second insulating layer composed of composed of at least one of PVC, TPE or polyurethane. A method of assembling a cable and connector assembly for use in high voltage, pressurised, sterile environments is also proposed.</p> |
