<p>A two-part safety bulb holder 10 comprises a mounting part 12 which releasably engages a bulb-engagement part 14, wherein a bulb 42 is non-removable from the bulb-engagement part 14 when the mouning part 12 and bulb-engagement part 14 are engaged together. The mounting part 12 includes two electricity-supply conductors 20 within an enclosure 22 and two spaced access openings in a wall of the enclosure 22 for respectively accessing the two conductors 20. The bulb-engagement part 14 includes a shroud 40 with a bulb connector 36 (e.g. for bayonet or screw type bulbs) recessed therein and a spring-biased pin carrier 38 carrying two elongate pin conductors 64. Upon engagement of a bulb 42 with the bulb connector 36, the pin conductors 64 move from a retracted position, in which the pin conductors 64 are recessed within the shroud 40, to an extended position, in which the pin conductors 64 project from access openings in a wall 52 of the shroud 40. In the extended position, the pin conductors 64 are received in respective access openings of the enclosure 22 to electrically connect with the respective electricity-supply conductors 20.</p> |
