<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ethanol by using bark not having been utilized effectively as a cellulose-based biomass not competing with a food by a concurrent saccharification and fermentation method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the ethanol includes: a pretreatment step for preparing fine bark slurry having pH 4-7 by subjecting the bark raw material to a treatment with an alkali solution containing calcium hydroxide and a treatment for mechanically finely pulverizing the pulp raw material; a step of a concurrent saccharification and fermentation treatment for treating the fine bark slurry by the concurrent saccharification and fermentation method; an ethanol and enzyme-recovering step for recovering the formed ethanol from a fermented liquid and returning an enzyme-containing liquid to the step of the concurrent saccharification and fermentation treatment; and a calcium hydroxide-recovering step for recovering the calcium component contained in a fermentation residual fraction separated from the fermentation liquid as a state of calcium hydroxide, and circulating the calcium hydroxide as the calcium hydroxide for the alkali solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
