摘要 A flow setup table in a base station breakout component allows for servicing non-cacheable IP data flows at the breakout component without the need for network address translation. For each broken out IP flow at the breakout component, the flow setup table holds a mapping between tunnel IDs and the IP related information. The flow setup table data is sent to the breakout component at the gateway. The gateway breakout component uses the flow setup table to forward non-cacheable data requests to the internet and return data received from the internet back to the base station breakout component. The base station component then sends the non-cacheable data in the correct tunnel to the user equipment requesting the data.

A mobile data network comprising: a plurality of base stations, each base station communicating with a corresponding antenna that transmits and receives radio signals to and from user equipment, wherein the plurality of base stations are part of a radio access network that communicates with a core network in the mobile data network; a first service mechanism associated with a base station node in the radio access network that defines an existing first data path in the radio access network for non-broken out data, defines a second data path for broken out data, identifies first data received from a corresponding base station as data to be broken out, sends the first data on the second data path, and forwards other data that is not broken out on the first data path, wherein the first service mechanism performs a first service for network messages in the radio access network based on the first data, wherein the first service mechanism includes a first optimizer and a transmission control protocol (TCP) context for an application that is broken out on the second data path, wherein the first optimizer transfers the TCP context to a second optimizer in response to a mobility event; a second service mechanism in the core network that monitors network messages in the core network and determines what traffic meets breakout authorization criteria and sends a message to the first service mechanism with subscriber information for the first service mechanism to perform breakout sessions on the second data path, wherein the second service mechanism includes the second optimizer; an overlay network that allows the first service mechanism to communicate with the second service mechanism to perform the first service; wherein the first service mechanism includes a flow setup table, where the flow setup table includes tunnel endpoint identification information and associated internet protocol (IP) flow information for non-cacheable data requests by the user equipment; and wherein the flow setup table is sent to the second service mechanism and the second service mechanism uses data of the flow setup table to fetch non-cacheable data from the internet and forward the non-cacheable data from the internet back to the first service mechanism on the overlay network.
