<p>The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for selecting a new base station location. The method for selecting a new base station location comprises the steps of: receiving information about multiple new base station candidate locations in each of multiple areas where a new base station is to be installed; analyzing received electric field strengths in a case the base station is positioned in the new base station candidate locations in accordance with the information about the multiple new base station candidate locations; setting multiple service areas with representative points at the center thereof after determining the representative points of the new base station candidate locations in each area; determining priorities of the multiple service areas on the basis of possibility of change of a wireless network environment; and selecting at least one of the new base station candidate locations in each service area by analyzing a coverage in consideration of the received electric field strengths in turn according to the priorities. The method according to the present invention can reduce an analysis time while obtaining accuracy of an analysis result by determining the priorities of areas to be analyzed for installation of a new base station and performing vertical analysis in turn starting from an area with a higher priority.</p> |
