PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing apparatus capable of preventing a binding failure while suppressing upsizing of the apparatus and an image forming system including the apparatus.SOLUTION: A sheet processing apparatus 3 includes: sheet conveying means 22 that conveys a sheet; a sheet stacking member 23 on a placing surface of which the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveying means is stacked; edge aligning means 208 that aligns the edges of sheets in a sheet conveying direction on the sheet stacking member; first binding means 60 that binds the sheets aligned by the edge aligning means using a binding member; and second binding means 70 that binds the sheets aligned by the edge aligning means without using a binding member. The sheet processing apparatus 3 selects either of the first binding means and the second binding means and performs binding processing on the sheets. The first binding means and the second binding means are integrally constructed.
