PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring system for an elevator that enables a monitoring center to reliably grasp the state of an elevator determined by a maintenance person to be not allowed to restart.SOLUTION: A remote monitoring system for an elevator includes: a monitoring device 8 that is provided in a building where an elevator is installed, and can detect abnormality of the elevator and report the abnormality; and a monitoring center device 10 that receives a report of abnormality from the monitoring device 8 via a public telephone network 9. The remote monitoring system for an elevator also includes a property damage switch 7d that is provided in the building, and is turned on if a maintenance person determines that the elevator is not allowed to restart. In response to turning-on of the property damage switch 7d, the monitoring device 8 reports to the monitoring center device 10 via the public telephone network 9. In this system, even if the maintenance person himself/herself does not report to the monitoring center by phone or a mobile terminal, inspection can be performed and the monitoring center device 10 is informed that restart is not allowed, enabling the monitoring center to reliably grasp the state of the elevator. |
