PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality in the case where the combination/non-combination of captured images is switched during motion picture recording.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus is provided which comprises: imaging means; control means for controlling the imaging means so as to continuously perform imaging at a first frame rate or a second frame rate that is higher than the first frame rate; and image processing means for processing image data continuously produced by the continuous imaging, the image processing means being configured to operate under a non-combination mode in which image data are processed without being combined with the other image data, or under a combination mode in which processing for combining a predetermined number of image data items is performed. When switching the image processing means from the non-combination mode to the combination mode during the continuous imaging, the control means switches the first frame rate to the second frame rate and when switching the image processing means from the combination mode to the non-combination mode during the continuous imaging, the control means switches the second frame rate to the first frame rate. |
