PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for removing a top lid of a reactor pressure vessel in which the top lid is removed without loosening and removing stud bolts and nuts.SOLUTION: There is provided a top lid removing apparatus of a reactor pressure vessel in which a shell plate flange provided around a cylindrical pressure vessel body comes into contact with a top lid flange provided around a pressure vessel top lid to form a flange part, stud bolts are screwed into through-holes that are formed in a height direction of the flange part, head parts of the stud bolts protruded from the pressure vessel top lid are fastened by nuts, and the flange part is designed to contact on an inner peripheral side of the through-holes and not to contact on an outer peripheral side of the through-holes. The apparatus comprises a cutting device including: a cutting instrument; positioning means for positioning the cutting instrument at a gap part which is formed by not allowing the flange part to contact the outer peripheral side of the pressure vessel body; and fixing means for fixing the positioning means to the reactor pressure vessel, and the stud bolts are cut off in the gap part by the cutting instrument. |
