<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a filtered signal from noise without requiring any adjustments to a filter nor using a high speed A/D converter.SOLUTION: A comparator 5, a pulse width measurement section 6, a time correlation section 7 and a data processing section 8 are provided. Levels of a signal S1 amplified by an amplifier 2 and noise N1 are compared with a threshold Lth, and pulse signals Pand Pof pulse widths depending on durations for which the levels of the signal S1 and the noise N1 exceed the threshold Lth are produced as comparison results. The pulse widths W, Wof the pulse signals P, Pproduced as the comparison results are measured, and measurement results (W, W) of the measured pulse widths are associated with results of A/D conversion (D, D) by time correlation. On the basis of the association, a result of A/D conversion associated with a pulse width shorter than a predetermined value Wth is discriminated as noise.</p> |
