PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid repellent composite member which can permanently maintain liquid repellency without peeling of a sintered body layer containing silicon nitride and a substrate even when exposed to a high temperature and in which a sintered body layer containing silicon nitride is formed on the surface of a substrate and the adhesion force between the sintered body layer containing silicon nitride and the substrate is high irrespective of the material of the substrate while maintaining liquid repellency for a silicon melt.SOLUTION: There is formed a sintered body layer containing silicon nitride via a sintered body layer of an aluminum-based compound on the surface of a substrate.
