<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The element (1) has a profile body (2) made of metal or plastic in which openings (5) are formed. The body has two separately constructed longitudinal sections with respective longitudinal edges. Each section has an elongated section and connecting sections projected over the elongated section. A set of reinforcing beads runs in a longitudinal direction of the longitudinal sections. Another set of reinforcing beads running transversely to the former set of beads are connected to the former set of beads. The latter set of beads is extended into the connecting sections. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a thin-walled, cold-formed lightweight profile element. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Thin-walled, cold-formed lightweight profile element i.e. structural profile e.g. drywall construction profile, facade profile, plaster profile, screed profile, tile profile or cable carrier profile or shelf- or drain rail (all claimed), and C-profile, for use in a motor vehicle, a switch cabinet construction, a ceiling system and as a vein support and/or a vein post. Can also be used for a U-profile, L-profile, a T-profile, H-profile, cap profile, and Z-profile. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The set of reinforcing beads running transversely to another set of beads is connected to the latter set of beads running in the longitudinal direction, where the former set of beads are extended into the connecting sections, thus avoiding production of wastes for producing the openings of the profile body, and hence saving material used in the profile element and achieving broad formation of the profile element. Torsion- and deflection rigidities of the profile element are hence increased.
