<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling navigation which provides a driver with information on the presence of a speed bump and a safe speed for safely passing the speed bump, and to a method therefor. The apparatus for controlling navigation according to the present invention comprises: a GPS determining a current position of a vehicle, and determining a position of the speed bump existing in front of the vehicle; a sensor unit equipped with a sensor to acquire detailed information of the speed bump and a sensor to acquire a current speed of the vehicle; a control unit classifying the distance between the current position and the speed bump into at least one area by confirming the current position of the vehicle, and generating a warning message if the current speed is faster than a recommended speed by calculating the recommended speed to pass the speed bump based on the detailed information of the speed bump by confirming the current speed of the vehicle; and an output unit outputting the warning message as controlled by the control unit.</p> |
