PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable soundness of canisters to be checked in a simple way.SOLUTION: A heat removing device 1 for a concrete cask 2 that takes in internal cooling air 5 for cooling a canister 4 housed in a concrete container 3 from an air intake 6 and discharges the air through an exhaust outlet 7 positioned in a higher position than the air intake 6 is provided with a circulatory passage 8 that is arranged outside the concrete container 3 and makes continuous the exhaust outlet 7 and the air intake 6 to guide the internal cooling air 5 discharged from the exhaust outlet 7 to the air intake 6 while cooling the air and a sampling pipe 26 disposed on the way of the circulatory passage 8 and capable of picking up examination samples of the internal cooling air 5.
