PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for monitoring the conveyance of paper sheets by a conveyance path sensor regardless of the type or damage state of paper sheets.SOLUTION: The paper sheet handling device includes: a money reception port to which paper sheets are input from the outside; a discrimination part for acquiring the discrimination information of the paper sheets; a temporary storage cabinet for temporarily accumulating the paper sheets; a storage space for storing the paper sheets ejected from the temporary storage cabinet; a conveyance path for connecting the money reception port, the temporary storage cabinet, the discrimination part and the storage space; a plurality of detection parts arranged in parallel in the width direction of the conveyance path on the conveyance part for detecting the existence of the paper sheets; and a control part for determining the occurrence of a conveyance failure on the basis of the discrimination information and the information acquired by the detection part. The control part changes the detection part to be used for determining the occurrence of the conveyance failure on the basis of the discrimination information acquired by the discrimination part. |
