PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device capable of increasing the speed of moving image while suppressing reduction of sensitivity.SOLUTION: A binning control section 7A controls several pixels PC in different lines in a pixel array 1 to form a group. A frame reading control section 7B reads lines while thinning so that thinning position is different from each other in two or more frames in the lines which are set as a group by the binning control section 7A. A reconfiguration processing section 8 combines two or more frames the thinning position of which is different from each other to configure one frame.
