<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus configured to prevent a light flux for forming a detection-unit light-receiving image from being included in a light flux for forming an image to be presented to a user, as stray light, as much as possible, without arranging a light-shielding member for preventing stray light to be caused by the detection-unit light-receiving image, in the device body.SOLUTION: An image display apparatus includes: an image processing unit 7 which outputs drive data to a light-source control unit 2 for controlling lighting of a light source unit 1 according to image data of an image to be presented to a user; a light-flux scan unit 3 which scans a light flux P emitted from the light source unit 1 to form the image to be presented to the user; a scan light flux detection unit 5 which is arranged in a scan area of the light-flux scan unit 3 and outside an image forming area of the image to be presented to the user; and a detection-unit light-receiving image forming unit 9 which forms a detection-unit light-receiving image to be received by the scan light flux detection unit 5. When the scan light flux detection unit 5 receives a light flux P' forming the detection-unit light-receiving image, the detection-unit light-receiving image is erased. A scan width of the light-flux scan unit 3 is adjusted by the detection-unit light-receiving image received by the scan light flux detection unit 5.</p> |
