<p>The present invention relates to a method for controlling data reception and transmission through infrared communications which allows an electronic device to select a counterpart electronic device to be connected for short-range communications by an intuitive operation when identification information of the counterpart electronic device is not known; and to the electronic device using the method. According to an operation method of the electronic device, the electronic device can transmit first data including information on methods for short-range wireless communications except for the infrared communications provided by the electronic device to the counterpart electronic device, receive connection of the short-range wireless communications based on the first data from the counterpart electronic device, and transmit second data to the counterpart electronic device through the short-range wireless communications.</p> |
