<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an etchant composition which is advantageously used when removing a coating film mainly comprising titanium such as titanium nitride, titanium carbonitride, and titanium aluminum nitride and coated on the surface of a cutting tool or the like made of an iron-based base material, has excellent hydrogen peroxide stability, and can effectively suppress corrosion of the iron-based base material during dissolution and removal treatment of the coating film.SOLUTION: An etchant composition comprises an aqueous solution containing 0.5-5.0 wt.% of condensed phosphoric acid and/or its salts, 0.5-10.0 wt.% of a carboxylic acid and/or its salts, 1.0-20.0 wt.% of diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid and/or its salts, and 10.0-33.0 wt.% of hydrogen peroxide.</p> |
