PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment apparatus which enables a surface treatment with high accuracy and efficiency even when a to-be-treated surface is an inner wall of a bottomed hole which varies in inside diameter between the opening to the bottom part.SOLUTION: An electrolytic treatment apparatus 10 (surface treatment apparatus) is provided with an electrode 16 to be inserted into a bottomed hole 12 so as to surface-treat the inner wall of the bottomed hole 12 which varies in inside diameter from the opening to the bottom part. The electrode 16 is a tubular body extending along the bottomed hole 12 and changes in outside diameter in the longitudinal direction according to the inside diameter of the bottomed hole 12. A feed passage for an electrolytic treatment solution is formed between the outer wall of the electrode 16 and the inner wall of the bottomed hole, and a recovery passage for the electrolytic solution may be formed inside the electrode 16.
