PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device and a processing method capable of easily resolving the bulk of paper sheets in a paper sheet accommodation box.SOLUTION: A processing device 100 comprises: a cutting mechanism 20 equipped with a cutting blade 36 for cutting a paper sheet P transported by a transportation part 4, in a predetermined direction; a paper sheet accommodation box 65 for accommodating a paper sheet J cut out and made unnecessary in said cutting mechanism 20; and an accommodation box vibration part 66 for vibrating the paper sheet accommodation box 65. The processing device 100 further comprises a control part 45 for controlling the drive of the accommodation box vibration part 66 on the basis of a state of the paper sheet J accommodated in said paper sheet accommodation box 65. |
