PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element using a silicon substrate which has excellent electric characteristics and reliability by achieving both good adhesion property and ohmic contact property with the silicon substrate, and by guaranteeing to prevent diffusion into the silicon substrate of a material used for bonding between the silicon substrate and a semiconductor layer, and the like, and which also has a good productivity and is low-cost.SOLUTION: A light-emitting element comprises: an Si substrate; a first metal layer provided on one surface of the Si substrate; a second metal layer provided on the other surface of the Si substrate; and a semiconductor layer provided on the second metal layer. At least one of the first and second metal layers is a metal laminate in which a layer containing Co, a layer containing Mo, W, Ti, TiN, TiW, Rh, Ru, Pd, or Ir, and a layer containing Au, are sequentially laminated from the Si substrate side. |
