PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-processed steel plate for battery containers which makes possible to suppress the elution of iron inside a battery thereby to achieve a longer battery life, and to improve the battery characteristics including a discharge characteristic when used for a battery container.SOLUTION: The surface-processed steel plate for battery containers is arranged by plating a steel plate with an iron-nickel alloy and then, performing a thermal treatment thereon. The surface-processed steel plate for battery containers comprises an outermost layer composed of an iron-nickel alloy layer. The iron-nickel alloy layer has an average crystal grain diameter of 1-8 μm in its outermost surface. |
