<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid coating device which automatically determines a suitable coating amount of a process liquid on a recorded medium, and can control the coating amount based on a determination result.SOLUTION: A liquid coating device coats a recorded medium 60 before forming an image with a process liquid, and includes: a conveyance mechanism having a conveyance roller 61 for conveying the recorded medium, a conveyance motor 71 for driving and rotating the conveyance roller, and rotation speed detection means 73 of the conveyance roller; and a coating mechanism having a coating roller 54 for coating the recorded medium with the process liquid, a coating motor 74 for rotating and driving the coating roller, rotation speed detection means 77 of the coating roller, a one-way clutch 75, and a squeeze roller 63. It is determined whether the coating roller is driven by the recorded medium conveyed by the conveyance mechanism and rotates, or is driven by the coating motor and rotates from a detected rotation speed of the conveyance roller and a detected rotation speed of the coating roller. In response to a determination result, the coating amount of the process liquid is controlled.</p> |
