<p>Disclosed are an image reproducing apparatus, a server, and an image reproducing method thereof. A user having an image of relatively low quality like a full HD image is able to reproduce an image of high quality by: receiving additional data for improving the quality of the corresponding image from a content providing server; and upgrading the corresponding image to an image of relatively high quality like an UHD image. The image reproducing apparatus includes: a communication unit which communicates with the server; a reproduction unit which processes a signal by reading out a first image signal and a voice signal from a multimedia medium in which the first image signal and the voice signal are recorded for the first image; a signal processing unit which receives from the server through the communication unit and processes a signal of additional data necessary for generating a second image signal for a second image based on the first image signal; and a control unit which collects image reproducing device information and multimedia medium information through the reproduction unit, requests a host authentication and additional data by transmitting the collected information to the server through the communication unit, generates a second image signal by summing the additional data processed by the signal processing unit with the first image signal outputted from the reproduction unit, and outputs the generated second image signal and the voice signal.</p> |
