PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a table type image display device that allows a user to place an input device such as a keyboard on a touch panel display to operate the input device, and an operation method of the same.SOLUTION: An image display device includes a display unit that displays images, and a touch detection unit that is arranged on a display screen of the display unit. When the image display device detects the touch of a button 302 in a screen 310 displayed on the display unit for indicating that the input from an external device is enabled, it secures, on the touch detection unit, a placement area that is an area for placing the external device and disabling the touch operation, and displays an image 312 showing the placement area on the display unit. With this configuration, a user can place an input device such as a keyboard on the touch panel display and operate the input device. |
