<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which offers both ease of work in taking out optical fiber cores and cicada resistance.SOLUTION: Jacketed tension members 40, each comprising a tension member 20 covered with a jacket 30, are positioned to sandwich optical fiber cores in a first direction. An outer jacket 50 entirely covers the optical fiber cores 10 and the jacketed tension members 40. The outer jacket 50 is made of a material having a yield point strengthσy that satisfies 10 MPa≤σy≤26 MPa. A closest point Pz, which is on a surface of the jacketed tension member 40 in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction among surfaces thereof facing the optical fiber cores 10 and is closest to a surface of the outer jacket 50, and a closest distance z to the surface of the outer jacket 50 therefrom satisfy z≥156.2σy.</p> |
