PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device capable of keeping a surface pressure distribution of a lip sliding surface for a long period and suppressing lowering of a contact pressure of a lip.SOLUTION: An oil seal 1 is mounted in a gap 28 between a housing having a raceway surface on its inner periphery, and a rotating shaft 29 disposed coaxially with the housing through the annular gap 28, and having a raceway surface 30 on its outer periphery. The oil seal 1 includes a seal body 2 having an annular lip 15 kept into contact with the raceway surface 30 of the rotating shaft 29 with a prescribed surface pressure, and slid to the raceway surface 30 of the rotating shaft 29, and a heat-shrinkable tube 4 mounted while surrounding an outer periphery of the lip 15, and shrunk by heat so that the lip 15 is pressed in the direction of diameter reduction by shrinkage force. |
