In the present invention, disclosed is technology regarding a wavelength converting chip including a protective cover capable of improving diffusion laser beam quality, preventing scratches on an optical waveguide in a packaging process and preventing contamination due to an external exposure; and a manufacturing method thereof. For this, the wavelength converting chip according to the present invention includes a bottom dummy block, a wavelength converting unit which is formed on the upper side of the bottom dummy block, converts a frequency of a transmitting laser, and includes an optical waveguide part which guides the laser, and a top protective cover which is formed on the upper side of the wavelength converting unit and surrounds the optical waveguide part to be separated from the optical waveguide part. |
