<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-board dimmer that reduces external incident light and has high convenience.SOLUTION: A control unit of an ECU 10 determines a viewing direction of a driver on the basis of a captured image of a driver of a vehicle 100. A dimmer 4 has a variable dimming rate and reduces external light entering the inside of the vehicle. A luminometer 2 detects the illuminance of the external light. The control unit determines whether or not the illuminance detected by the luminometer 2 is larger than a first threshold value, and determines whether or not the viewing direction of the driver is present within a predetermined range. When the illuminance is larger than the first threshold value and the viewing direction of the driver is present within the predetermined range, the control unit 11 commands dimming at a high dimming rate, such as 100%, to the dimmer 4. When the viewing direction of the driver is present, for example, within a predetermined range in the front and the illuminance of the external light is larger than the first threshold value, the external light is reduced without sense of incongruity so that the convenience of an on-board dimmer 1 is improved.</p> |
