<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus capable of quickly selecting a protocol with a SAR value reduced without preparing an imaging protocol dedicated to a low SAR.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprises: a storage unit which combines a plurality of imaging sequences and stores the order of combined imaging sequences as a protocol; a protocol display and selection unit 201 which selects a protocol according to a subject; an operation mode limitation input unit 203 which inputs an operation mode allowed for the subject; a SAR calculation unit 205 which calculates an upper limit SAR value on the basis of the imaging sequences included in the selected protocol; and a protocol conversion unit 204 which adjusts the imaging parameters constituting the protocol and generates a new protocol with the SAR value reduced into the allowed range, when a determination is made as to whether or not the calculated upper limit SAR value exceeds the SAR value range allowed in the selected operation mode and the upper limit SAR value is determined to exceed the allowed SAR value range.</p> |
