The present invention relates to a controlling apparatus and a controlling method of the thickness of a steel sheet. The controlling apparatus of the thickness of the steel sheet comprises: a rolling mill consisting of a plurality of front end rolling rolls and rear end rolling rolls for rolling the steel sheet progressing in one direction to a preset front end rolling load and rear end rolling load; a temperature sensor which is installed in one side of the rolling mill to measure the temperature of the steel sheet; and a control unit which is connected to the rolling mill and the temperature sensor, and which sets up the front end rolling roll to be higher than the front end rolling load and the rolling load of the rear end rolling roll to be lower than the rear end rolling load if the temperature of the steel sheet measured by the temperature sensor is less than or equal to a predetermined temperature. |
