1315868 Dithiophosphoric acid esters BAYER AG 8 Dec 1970 [26 Dec 1969] 58232/70 Heading C2P Novel compounds of the formula wherein X is H, halogen atom, e.g. Cl, Br, F or I, or a C 1 -C 4 alkyl group are obtained by either (a) reacting a compound of the formula in which M<SP>1</SP> is a metal equivalent or an ammonium group with an n-propyl halide (n-C 3 H 7 Hal) in which Hal is halogen, or (b) by reacting a halide of the formula in which Hal<SP>1</SP> is a halogen atom with a thiophenol derivative of the formula in which M<SP>2</SP> is H, a metal equivalent or an ammonium group. The reactions may be carried out in an inert solvent or diluent and method (b) may be carried out in the presence of an acid binder when M<SP>2</SP> is H. The products have insecticidal and acaricidal properties and may be used as active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions which may contain solid, liquid or gaseous diluents or carriers. Potassium O - ethyl - S - (4 - methyl - phenyl)- dithiophosphate is obtained by reacting O-ethyl- S - (4 - methylphenyl)dithiophosphoric chloride with an aqueous KOH solution in the presence of dioxane. |
