PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing lens whose total length is reduced while maintaining good optical performance.SOLUTION: An image capturing lens includes a first lens element 3, a second lens element 4, a third lens element 5, a fourth lens element 6, and a fifth lens element 7 in order from the object side to the image side along an optical axis I of the image capturing lens, where the first through fifth lens elements are the only lens elements that provide the image capturing lens with total refractive power. The first lens element has an object-side surface having a convex portion near the optical axis and the second lens element has positive refractive power and an object-side surface having a convex portion near the optical axis, while the third lens element has an object-side surface having a concave portion near the optical axis and the fifth lens element is made of a plastic material and has an image-side surface having a concave portion near the optical axis. V1 representing an Abbe number of the first lens element and V2 representing an Abbe number of the second lens element satisfy 25≤|V1-V2|. |
