PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter capable of achieving high reliability, long service life, miniaturization and high-speed protection operation of means for connecting a drive circuit with a motor terminal to be driven by isolating phases when a failure occurs.SOLUTION: Semiconductor elements 3u, 3v, 3n are used as means which is connected with each phase and a neutral point of a four-phase motor or a three-phase motor, isolates the phases and connects a drive circuit with a terminal of a motor 8 to be driven. In addition, for a ground fault/power fault of a phase output line, a semiconductor switching element 4 is used for blocking.
