<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately forge and shape an asymmetric irregular-shaped cross-sectional ring 50, while being a comparatively simple constitution, in a ring rolling mill 1.SOLUTION: A peripheral groove 2a is provided on an outer peripheral surface of a main drive roll 2, and an inclined plane 2b is provided on the opening side in one inner wall surface of the peripheral groove 2a. Control systems (21 to 26 and 30) allow an outer peripheral surface of a flange part 52 of the asymmetric irregular-shaped cross-sectional ring 50 to abut on a bottom surface of the peripheral groove 2a of the main drive roll 2 by sliding a mandrel 3, and also to abut on a small end surface 54 on the upper end side in the axial direction and a large end surface 55 on the lower end side in the axial direction of the asymmetric irregular-shaped cross-sectional ring 50 by sliding upper-lower edge rolls 4 and 5, and them, rotatingly drive the main drive roll 2 at a constant speed, and individually control a rotating speed of the upper-lower edge rolls 4 and 5 on the basis of peripheral velocity of a central position 400 in the axial direction of a boss part 51 of the asymmetric irregular-shaped cross-sectional ring 50 at its time.</p> |
